I finished six months of chemo on 7/29, and ringing the bell felt incredible. These past months have been tough, staying positive hasn’t always been easy, but overall, I’ve been fortunate that the side effects were manageable. The “red devil” chemo did bring nausea, but the anti-nausea meds helped keep it under control.
The hardest part was losing most of my hair, even with cold capping. I’m now rocking a short gray pixie, though the left side seems to be taking its sweet time growing back.
Next up is surgery, also scheduled for 8/29. I’ll be having a lumpectomy to remove the tumors, along with a lift and reconstruction. They’ll also be doing a lymph node resection/biopsy.
Thank you all so much for supporting me and walking with me through this journey, it means more than I can say.
One day at a time, one step at a time--All things happen in God's time.
