Week 6: Dan and Kayla spent the weekend in Tampa visiting our boys for Spring Break. While they were away, my mom came to stay with me. It was such a gift to enjoy some rest and relaxation, along with some cherished mother-daughter time. On Sunday, my dear friend Racheal came over, and we watched a movie and caught up. It made for a great weekend.
I have officially reached the halfway point of Phase 1 of chemo! It's been rocky at times, but I find strength in each day. The side effects have been manageable, with some new symptoms like teeth pain and sensitivity, and tingling in my right fingers. My hair is still thinning, but I’m deeply grateful for the hair I have been able to keep. Through it all, I am incredibly thankful for my wonderful husband, Dan. He reminds me every day how beautiful I am, even on days when I feel anything but. His silly jokes may sometimes make me roll my eyes, but they always bring a smile to my face, and he never stops lifting my spirits.
The upcoming week will be challenging once again, when I receive the two chemo drugs along with immunotherapy. My medical team has already planned for extra fluids to help me get through the rough days ahead. I also have an appointment with my surgeon on the 10th, so I’ll be sure to share another update soon.
One day at a time, one step at a time--All things happen in God's time.
